My brush with a beading world celeb...of sorts

This weekend we had the Jane's Bead & Fiber Show in town. Well you know me, I never miss a bead show. I went not expecting anything new because this same show was just in town a few months ago. So I go on Saturday, walk in the door, take a quick look around, then lo and behold the first table I saw was Green Girl Studios. Man, was I ever excited! I've admired the Thornton family's work for quite a while. Cynthia does the carving and designs, Greg Ogden, her husband, does the casting of the pewter charms, buttons and clasps that the company offers. Then there's the talented brother Andrew who designs some of my favorite jewelry pieces. I walked up to the table to peruse the goodies. It was eye-candy. I introduced myself to Greg, who was manning the table, and told him how much I admired their work. He was super, super nice! I treated myself to quite a few of their pieces. Greg told me to pick out 2 free pieces after my purchase. Hmmm, decisions, decisions, lol. So I picked out 2 more pendants, said how nice it was to meet him and headed home to ogle my new purchase. In addition to the pieces that I got, I also bought the beautiful little bracelet pictured above. Cynthia designed this piece and I just love it. Green Girl Studios is a wonderful business run by a talented family. Check out their website and show them some love!

New necklace in my Etsy shop...

I made this necklace last night. It features a pendant from Gaea Cannaday. My friend Lorelei and I did a little swap last week and in the bag of bead goodness that she sent me were 2 pendants of Gaea's along with some other wonderful beads. I just posted it in my Etsy shop and it's super affordable. Go take a look!

And...Another new item for my Etsy shop

Here's a lovely little bracelet that I made, loaded with sterling silver, charms and the beautiful lampwork beads of Melanie Carey of Glassvalley (ebay seller). I've been collecting Melanie's beads for quite a few years and when I feel like making something "girlie" I turn to her beads. It's in my shop now if you'd like a closer look. You won't be dissappointed!

I'm trying...New Etsy listings tonight

I just listed these 2 pieces tonight in my Etsy shop. The "Blessings" necklace shown came as a result of the bead/charm/clasp swap that I was a part of last year. The "Be Blessed" charm was one of my contributions to our swap. The bracelet shown is one of my fav's. I love this bracelet and found myself having a very hard time parting with it in order to list it. It features 3 little polymer clay discs from one of my very favorite art bead designers, Heather Powers of Humblebeads. I am making a real effort to list, if not daily, at least every other day in order to keep my shop current and on the radar. It seems that it's the only way to stay alive on Etsy... guess we'll see.
